What is the CarsXE integration for Zapier?
The CarsXE Zapier integration lets you add vehicle data to no-code workflows. Use it to enrich leads, inventory rows, forms, support tickets, and internal alerts with CarsXE data such as VIN specifications, license plate lookups, market values, history, recalls, and images.

Prerequisites
Before you begin, make sure you have:
- A Zapier account
- A CarsXE API account — sign in or create an account
- A CarsXE API key from the developer dashboard
Setup
Step 1: Open CarsXE in Zapier
Go to CarsXE on Zapier, then click Connect CarsXE or add CarsXE as an action in a Zap.
Step 2: Connect your CarsXE account
When Zapier asks for credentials, paste your CarsXE API key. Zapier stores the connection and reuses it for future CarsXE actions.
Step 3: Build a Zap
Choose a trigger from another app, add a CarsXE action, map the required fields, and test the action before publishing.

Troubleshooting
Authentication failed
- Confirm that the API key was copied from the CarsXE developer dashboard.
- Make sure your CarsXE account is active and has available credits.
- Reconnect the CarsXE account in Zapier if the key was rotated.
Zap test returns no vehicle
- Check that VINs are 17 characters.
- For plate lookups, include the correct country and state when required.
- Test the same input in the CarsXE docs or dashboard to confirm the source data.
A field is missing in a later Zap step
- Re-run the CarsXE action test so Zapier refreshes the sample response.
- Confirm the selected CarsXE action returns the field you want to map.
